St. Ann’s Community raises $7,618 to Support Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine and Open Door Mission Rochester

Surpassing last year’s donations by $1,500, the staff, elders, and families of St. Ann’s Community worked together to raise $7,618 in supplies to be donated to Humanitarian Aid for Ukraine and Open Door Mission of Rochester.

“We have such a large Ukrainian community in Rochester, as well as here at St. Ann’s,” says Lisa White, Nursing Office Manager, and coordinator of this fundraiser and food/supply drive. “It means so much that we were able to include them in our annual fundraising efforts. I had no doubt in my mind that everyone at St. Ann’s Community would come together and support these amazing organizations, especially now during this tumultuous time in Ukraine.”

Items collected included coffee, bottled water, non-perishable foods, diapers, toiletries, as well as monetary donations.

 “It is estimated that The Greater Rochester area has nearly 20,000 Ukrainian-America residents, and a number of those individuals either live or work at St. Ann’s Community,” says White. “We want them to know that we are with them, we support them, and we are praying for them!”
