Advanced Care for Complex Wounds

Using the most advanced technology, our skilled team specializes in the treatment of complex wounds that can result from a variety of chronic or acute conditions.

These may include:

  • Venous ulcers
  • Arterial and diabetic wounds
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Surgical wounds
  • Traumatic injuries

Any wound that has not started to heal in two weeks or is not completely healed in four weeks may benefit from the services provided by our dedicated, compassionate wound care team.

A Collaborative Approach

The Wound Healing Center team, led by St. Ann’s Medical Director Kim Petrone, MD, works with patients and referring physicians in delivering highly effective wound care. Treatment begins with a thorough evaluation that helps providers develop a personalized plan to match the right techniques to the patient’s unique needs.

Advanced treatments include:

Compression Therapy – A non-invasive technique using compression bandages to accelerate wound healing.

Total Contact Casting – A localized cast is used to help distribute weight more evenly on the surface of the foot, reducing pressure on or near a wound to accelerate healing.

Negative-Pressure Wound Therapy – A vacuum pump applies gentle, concentrated pressure to the wound in a sealed dressing. Effective for acute and chronic wounds as well as first- and second-degree burns.

Cellular Tissue Products – Ideal for a variety of non-healing wounds that have not responded to standard wound-care techniques.

“This week my Mom had her last meeting with your Wound Healing Center Team. She is cured! We had a long year dealing with her situation just getting worse and worse. It wasn’t until she started going to the Wound Healing Center that she started to improve. We can’t say enough about the caring people that helped her out. Miracles do happen and us finding St. Ann’s was our miracle.” – Thank you, Susan Tripi – Daughter of Irene Bileschi
