At St. Ann’s Community, we’re surrounded by women who have raised families, supported others through life’s challenges, and helped shape the people and communities around them. You see it in the way they care for others, the way they share advice, and the way they continue to show up for the people they love.
Motherhood takes many forms. For some, it’s raising children. For others, it’s stepping in when someone needs guidance, support, or simply someone to listen. That presence, that willingness to care for others, doesn’t go away. We see it every day in our communities.
In the Catholic tradition, Mary is often seen as the example of what that kind of strength looks like. Not loud or attention-seeking, but steady, faithful, and present. That same kind of strength is something I see in the women here every day.
At St. Ann’s, when we talk about caring for the most important people on earth, this is what we mean. We’re caring for individuals who have spent their lives caring for others. That matters.
Mother’s Day is a chance to recognize that. To say thank you. And to take a moment to appreciate the impact these women have had, and continue to have, on all of us.
To all the mothers in our community, and to those who carry that role in any way, thank you.
