Embracing the Best of Summer at St. Ann’s
As summer winds down, I want to reflect on the incredible season we’ve shared at St. Ann’s. Our community events, especially the many free concerts, have been nothing short of magical. We’ve had the privilege of hosting performances by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, a Beatles cover band, and more! These gatherings have brought immense joy to our Elders, residents, and their friends, offering a vibrant glimpse into the life that thrives within our community.
These events are a true labor of love, requiring the dedication and hard work of countless team members. Watching our residents invite their friends and families to experience what makes St. Ann’s so special is truly the highlight of our year. While our summer concerts may have concluded, there’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy.
The days are still long, the leaves are green, and we’re excited to announce a new event that promises to be a wonderful addition to our summer calendar: the St. Ann’s Walk! September is a stunning time on our Irondequoit campus, and we can’t wait to welcome you to stroll our beautiful grounds and participate in this special day of giving back.
With nearly 500 seniors residing on this campus, there’s a lot of excitement building around this event. I’ve heard whispers from Chapel Oaks residents about hosting rest stops for walkers, complete with homemade beverages and baked goods—though I’ll leave the confirmation of those rumors to them! Additionally, our independent living residents at Chapel Oaks and Cherry Ridge, along with our nursing home residents at St. Ann’s Home and the Wegman Care Center, are curating a special art show to coincide with the walk, showcasing their skill and creativity.
As we continue to soak in these final days of summer, I encourage you to join us for the St. Ann’s Walk and see for yourself the beauty and spirit of our community. We look forward to welcoming you to what promises to be a memorable event.
