A New Opportunity for St. Ann’s Employees

Posted on January 8, 2020

Vanessa Sosa, Staffing Coordinator at St. Ann’s Community, was recently accepted into the Isabella Graham Heart School of Practical Nursing Program. She plans on furthering her education to better the lives of our residents by pursuing her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

“I’ve always had a passion for nursing,” says Sosa, who began her career at St. Ann’s Community 11 years ago as a Certified Nursing Assistant. “Deep down I always knew I wanted to be a nurse. When I heard about the new program that St. Ann’s began with IGH School of Practical Nursing, I knew it was my opportunity.”

In 2019, St. Ann’s Community formed a School Work Program in collaboration with Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing , which is part of Rochester Regional Health. While attending this program, students are able to work at St. Ann’s for 20 hours and receive pay for 30, so that they may have more time to focus on their education.

Vanessa plans on returning to St. Ann’s Community upon completion of her LPN certification, and she is excited to spread her knowledge and further enhance the lives of the residents. “I am passionate, patient, caring, and I love taking on new challenges,” says Sosa. “I am looking forward to this new chapter, I think it will be something that I love.”
