Five employees of St. Ann’s Community at Chapel Oaks were recently recognized for going above and beyond in caring for residents and awarded with a STAR. The STAR Award allows residents and family members to thank the exceptional staff caring for the most important people on earth. Gifts to The Star Fund will support a variety of recognition activities designed to thank all of St. Ann’s employees.
Rebecca Ahrns-Walker, Mackenzie Park, Dave Sheehan, and Tim McGrath were all nominated by the son of Lowell, a former resident of St. Ann’s Community. The son, Stephen, included notes which read as followed:
Of Rebecca Ahrns-Walker (and the entire Chapel Oaks Staff) he said: “We cannot thank you enough for all of the special care you gave our father that made these last few years Full of Life for him. He loved it at Chapel Oaks and that was because of all of you.”
Of Mackenzie Park he said: “Mackenzie was so caring and so present for all of the residents at Chapel Oaks. In particular, the Saturday morning discussion group was one of the highlights of the week for my Dad and a “not miss” event. Our Saturday morning phone calls had to be done in time for him to get to the group.”
Of Dave Sheehan he said: “Thanks for his friendship with Dad and help with the shop. We are particularly grateful for all the help he gave us as we took care of Dad’s apartment at the end of all the times he gave us a hand.”
Of Tim McGrath he said: “Tim was always so cheerful and helpful and Dad really enjoyed talking to him and having him around. As we took care of Dad’s apartment at the end, Tim did so much to make the task easier in a number of ways.”
Congratulations to all!
