Celebrating a Very Special “Platinum” Anniversary at Cherry Ridge
The year was 1950.
Betty met Bob through his cousin who worked at Kodak with her. Bob was looking for a pretty girl with long blonde hair, and Bob’s cousin knew that him and Betty would be a perfect match!
Fast forward 70 years of marital bliss – Betty is a resident of St. Ann’s Community at Cherry Ridge’s Independent Cottages and Bob lives in St. Ann’s Care Center just a few yards away.
Bob’s favorite pastime, other than spending time with his love Betty, is playing poker and winning his children’s money!
This year has brought some unexpected hurdles to Bob and Betty’s marriage, and they have proved that their love can overcome any obstacles – including a mandated quarantine and a global pandemic! With the help of their children and the staff of Cherry Ridge, this lovely couple was able to celebrate their 70th anniversary (also known as the “Platinum” anniversary) in style! While nontraditional, this celebration had family, friends, twice the cake and champagne, and an endless amount of love.
What is Betty’s secret to a long, happy marriage? Spend a lot of time square dancing and golfing together!
